Ray Hu, Founder & Managing Partner of Blue Lake Capital, has over 20 years of venture investment and management consulting experience. For years, he has been focusing on investments in advanced manufacturing and enterprise software. Ray was named by Forbes China as one of the “Top 100 Venture Capitalists” in 2025 and 2024, and named “Best Venture Capitalist” in 2019. Moreover, he has been voted as “The Most Popular Investor Among Entrepreneurs” by 36Kr for multiple years.

Prior to founding Blue Lake Capital, Ray worked for GGV Capital and Boston Consulting Group in Shanghai. 

Ray holds Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Economics from Fudan University and an MBA Degree from the Kellogg School of Management of Northwestern University. 

Ray is a leisure golfer.  He enjoys playing golf with friends and his 12-year-old son on the weekends.
